You know your beauty routine is out of hand when it only adds to the hassle of your already hectic schedule. Whether it’s your makeup, hair or skincare routine, spending too much time in this category is a frustrating one that many women have to deal with on a daily basis. Luckily, there are ways around this issue. The following out-of-the-box tricks are ideal for helping to minimize the time spent on getting ready, while still getting the flawless, final results you want.
Hair
Want to kill two birds with one stone when it comes to styling your hair? Instead of spending extra time on brushing and adding spray/styling product to your tresses, why not combine the two? Take your favorite hair product and spray it onto your hairbrush, then use it on your hair. This trick is great for distributing the product from root to tip, as well as eliminate an extra step in your hair care routine.
Being in a rush to switch looks is a hassle in and of itself but if you’ve got a sweaty hairline that you don’t have time to restyle, grab a big, fluffy makeup brush and dab some loose powder onto it. Lightly shake off the excess then sweep it gently over your hairline at the roots. The powder will easily absorb the sweat and create a matte look so you can move on to the next step in your routine with no worries. Make sure to blend as needed.
Skincare
Spraying your favorite perfume only takes a few seconds but there is an even faster way to ensure that your skin smells good from head to toe. Instead of letting those fragrant, decorative mini soap bars go to waste by collecting dust in your bathroom, place them inside of your drawers along with your undergarments. Over time the scent will be absorbed into the clothes, which will work their way onto your skin once you put them on.
Do you tend to suffer from dry skin in and/or around your eyebrow area? Instead of spot treating it, prevent it altogether by applying a light layer of eye cream over your eyebrows in the morning and before bed. The hydrating formula of the eye cream will take care of the dry skin as well as keep unruly eyebrows in place.
Makeup
Are you tired of fighting to completely remove your lip color? When dealing with darker shades that tend to leave obvious traces afterwards, dip a cotton ball in eye makeup remover and dab your lips until the color comes off. Remember, dab – do not rub! Rubbing only smears the lip color in deeper. Depending on the type of formula your lip color has, another quick tip for easy removal is to first place a thin layer of petroleum jelly onto your lips before applying color so that it won’t penetrate too deeply over time.
Tired of applying eye makeup and liner in the morning, only to end up looking like a raccoon after your day is done? If you have somewhere to be but no time to redo your makeup, save yourself the trouble by applying the right kind of eye makeup in the morning. Choose eye shadow that complements your eye color (blue-violet for brown eyes, bronze for blue eyes and plum for green eyes), as well as liner that is the same color as your skin tone, instead of using black. Doing this will keep your eyes looking awake and fresh for your nighttime outing, even after a long day.
